i got a penalty fare, what does the number part on payment mean?

On my penalty fare ticket at the bottom is where you fill out your card details, it says
"Card No. -----
Valid until -----
Number. ----"

Just wondering how to fill it out? What is the number part on my card? I know the card number and expiration date but what does the number but mean?

Take your visa or mastercard.

Copy the prime number on the line

Card No: #### #### #### ####

Next write the Experation Date example: October 2018, as 10-2018, or 10-18.

Valid until: ##-## or ##-20##

On the back of the card next to the signature box is a three or four digit security number:

Number: ### or ####
